UK travel journalists meet French press officers

Atout France, the French tourist office in the UK, has published its itinerary for this year’s France Meets The Media mini workshops with travel journalists and bloggers.

A team of press officers representing 34 destinations in France will be setting off around the UK at the end of February, highlighting the sights, activities, tours, gastronomy and cultural events in their region, such as Leonardo da Vinci's 500th birthday celebration, Nantes 2012, Marseilles-European Capital of Culture in 2013 and Lille 3000 or for sailing enthusiasts the Vendee Globe sailing race or the 'Voiles de St Tropez' regatta.

They will also be talking about their programme of planned press trips which they will announce on 15th Feb.

This year, 12 new destinations will be attending including Marseilles, Cannes and Lille. These newcomers will join regulars from Brittany, Normandy, Riviera, Rhone Alpes and Midi Pyrenees to name a few.

The dates are:

LIVERPOOL ‘speed dating lunch’: Monday 27 Feb, 12pm to 2pm
MANCHESTER ‘networking evening’: Monday 27 Feb, 5.30pm to 7.30pm
LONDON networking workshops’: Tuesday 28 Feb, 10am to 2pm, or 2pm to 5.30pm;
LONDON ‘networking workshop’: Wednesday 29 Feb, 8am to 11.30 am
EDINBURGH ‘breakfast networking’: Thursday 1 Mar, 8am to 10.30am
GLASGOW ‘networking workshop’: Thursday 1 Mar, 3.30pm to 7.30pm
