The location based social media app introduced their first simple ‘city badge’ (Chicago) at the beginning of autumn and have been drip feeding them since. Foursquare badges exist in cities all over the world but they are usually linked to specific commercial locations or promotions. These badges are focused on mainstream sights and attractions. Available city badges are London, Paris, Singapore, Sao Paulo, Istanbul, Chicago, Atlanta and New Orleans, plus now Tokyo and Berlin.
All Foursquare users have to do to collect the badges is follow the city lists at foursquare.com/4sqcities and then check-in at five of the listed locations in those cities.
