In Rome marriages were arrange between families. There really was no love between the two people getting married. Men usually married in their midtwenties and women were married of in their early teen years. Parents would talk with people to see who would bring more wealth for the family. There some restrictions on the marriages. The people getting married had to be citizens of Rom
